NAVY GIN

NAVY GIN

Gunroom Navy Gin is distilled in a copper pot still according to the London Dry Gin principals and then matured in ex whisky barrels for 45-60 days. This process gives the gin it’s distinctive soft round finish and sweet vanilla hints of the oak that plays well with the orange peel and spices in the composition. This cask maturation was a natural process for any gin during the 19th century as glass bottles still was a luxury, fragile and not suitable for the long journey from Britain to India. Hence the gin made it is way across the world in wooden barrels that gave the spirit an enhanced character, a custom that now almost has been forgotten. Experience a historical Gin & Tonic or a classic cocktail such as a Pegu Club the way it tasted back in the days.

Gunroom Navy Gin is made with 12 hand picked ingredients to reflect the 19th century style of gin with an extra pinch of juniper. The gin is made by a gin distiller who’s family has been making gin for several generations.
